Pride of Africa Queer Fashion Show – The First of It’s kind!
Written by Seth Smith on October 10, 2019
Johannesburg Pride hosted its very first African Queer fashion show. The fashion show consisted of models that are from the LGBTQ community. Their fashion outfits were made from gorgeous materials that brought the best out of the models. Media partners such as Martini and TransAfrica Radio attended the event, as did members of the LGBTQ community.
There were food and drinks available at the event held in Houghton, Johannesburg. Interestingly, the staircase for the models to flaunt their outfits on had all the colours of the Pride flag, which are:
Red: The colour red symbolizes life.
Orange: The colour orange symbolizes healing.
Yellow: The colour yellow symbolizes sunlight.
Green: The colour green symbolizes nature.
Blue: The colour blue symbolizes harmony.
Purple: The colour purple symbolizes spirit.
Overall, the fashion show was a massive success. Johannesburg Pride lived up to its mission of liberating the LGBTQ community: Celebrating the Authentically unique diverse people.
