Miss South Africa organisation bids farewell to Zozibini Tunzi for Miss Universe

On Friday, 22 November 2019, the Miss South Africa organisation hosted a Miss Universe farewell for our queen Zozibini Tunzi, to bid her farewell and luck on the international Miss Universe stage where Zozibini will be representing South Africa in Atlanta Georgia, United States. Zozibini Tunzi was crowned as Miss South Africa 2019 in August on the 9th at Sun Arena, Times Square.

The farewell was hosted by Miss South Africa 2015, Liesl Laurie, with other former Miss South Africa title holders who joined to bid farewell to Zozibini. On the Friday morning, Zozibini showcased her national dress, designed by Lloyd Kandlin, which she will be wearing at The Miss Universe pageant as well as her Evening Gown, designed by Biji La Maison. Amanda Black graced the stage with a performance as Zozi modeled with her national costume followed by her evening gown.

What is a farewell without speeches of encouragement? There were speeches said by Nthabiseng Phoshoko from the LFP group, Gareth Flusk and Stephenie Weil, the Miss South Africa organisation CEO. Zozibini also shared a speech.

The event ended off with video clips of family, friends and community members wishing Zozibini the best of luck when representing South Africa at the Miss Universe pageant. The video clips also included wishes from the Miss South Africa sisterhood, Tamryn Greene, Basetsana Kumalo and Demi-Leigh Nel Peters.
