Mahalia Buchanan presents You Fight For Me
Written by Nomfundo Tshabalala on February 14, 2020
‘You Fight for Me’ is a euphonious ballad, infused with a trilogy of pop, gospel and R&B. It rests on the verse in Deuteronomy 1:30 that speaks about God fighting for you!
Reminding the listener that the battles we go thru, God is fighting for us and that your victory is always secured in Him.
It is my heart that the listener to always be reminded that God fights for you.
Mahalia began her professional journey at the age of 13. She entered the South African Music Industry, serving and sharing the stage with established South African artists. Her career blossomed immensely when she joined the internationally renowned choir Joyous Celebration as a singer, songwriter and pivotal member. This helped to propel her pioneering solo career, which successfully followed.
Mahalia has travelled around the globe, performing in front of millions of people across Africa, Europe and the USA. Her reputation as an authentic vocalist, which transcends culture, has seen her sell-out shows in some of the world’s most iconic cities…
I had gone through a very challenging time in my life, and I thought that I could hold it all together, and I stumbled upon the verse Deuteronomy 1:30.
“The Lord your God who goes before you will fight for you Himself, just as He did for you in Egypt before your [very] eyes”.
It was in this moment God’s comforting voice assured me that He goes before me and He fights for me, that was the moment of my surrender.
Almost like a waiting to exhale moment, such a moment of relief as I realized that His strength will carry me and fight for me. For those battles unseen and any distraction that so easily entangles us.
God is concerned about us living our purpose and He will even fight for us in moments that deter us from that promise so we can always remain planted in purpose
