Johannesburg, February 11: Inspired by the recent spike in violence and femicide against women and children has had a profound Amanda Black releasing a debut single titled #”Thandwa Ndim”, a dedication and motivation to all South African to seek self love.
Touched by the grotesque murder of Karabo Mokoena, a young South African woman who was murdered by her boyfriend in 2017, and Amanda black drew the the beautiful notes of the powerful song that seeks to encourage young women to love themselves first.
“I wrote this song someday while I was watching the news and the femicide story was making news headlines and when when the abuse of women and children took it’s toll. We know that abuse has been happening for years and social media kept the momentum going and I felt the pain and decided to write this song dedicating it to all women in South Africa”, said Amanda.
#”Thandwa Ndim”, is xhosa expression meaning loved by me and the song elaborates on the duality of love beginning with self and others falling inlove with the idea of loving yourself.
The song producer previously worked with Amanda Black on her debut single “Amazulu” and the beats are not different but the words used give the lover of afro pop music good sound and inspiration at the same time.
The song was released in January and many people are definitely applauding Amanda for always not disappointing on dropping good sounds and words.
