Remembering Lucky Dube And His Contribution To Music

Today marks 11 years since the unfortunate death of South African Reggae Legend Lucky Dube, Fans have taken to social media to honour his memory.

On the 18th of October 2007, South Africans woke up to the sad news of Lucky Dube’s death. The Reggae star was shot and killed during a hijack after dropping off his two sons at their uncle’s place.

Fans of the reggae star took it upon themselves to celebrate Lucky’s music and legacy by posting some of his hit singles on social media platforms.

Lucky Dube (3 August 1964 – 18 October 2007) was a South African reggae musician and Rastafarian. He recorded 22 albums in IsiZulu, English and Afrikaans in a 25-year period and was South Africa’s biggest-selling reggae artist.
