Game of Thrones tops Emmy charge

Game of Thrones leads the pack with 22 nominations.

The HBO fantasy series is a two-time best drama winner but will face strong competition from The Handmaid’s Tale, a dystopian sci-fi show which bagged 20 nominations last year.

Donald Glover’s Atlanta topped the comedy category with 16 nominations. Als nominated are the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Barry.

“Saturday Night Live”, which has gained plenty of traction organising satirical representations of the Trump administration, received 21 nominations.
