MTN Bushfire presents a tribute to Eswatini and Madiba

The MTN Bushfire Festival is proud to announce details on the exciting pan-African collaborative performance that will take place on Sunday May 27th on the Main Stage of this year’s festival.

Legendary African artists Salif Keita and Ladysmith Black Mambazo, joined by one of Nigeria’s hottest talents, Yemi Alade will perform an exclusively crafted set, as a tribute to the African Legacy of  Madiba.

To experience a perfromance from Salif Keita, known as Mali’s Golden Voice, who is, without a doubt, one of Africa’s most beloved Afro-pop stars and credited with being one of the founders of the genre, is in itself a rare opportunity. However, in this extraordinary event, he will be joined on stage by South Africa’s legendary acapella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

In musical history in the making, these iconic artists will be joined by Yemi Alade, who has has shared stages with acts such as Mary J Blige, Wizkid, M.I., Waje and many others.

The set from these three artists has been especially created as a tribute to the region, and specifically for the Kingdom of eSwatini and South Africa in the spirit of MTN Bushfire’s ethos of cultural celebration.

These artists are just part of a diverse MTN Bushfire line-up that reflects the festival’s identity as a uniquely African, and yet globally infused festival experience.  The MTN Bushfire main stage has consistently played host to some of Africa (and the world’s) top artists, featuring well-known and loved favorites, as well as introducing crowds to international artists of the highest calibre.
