The awards are aimed at celebrating and recognising Ugandan music videos, they will happen on the 18 of March at Kampala Serena Hotel.

“We made it, we beat everyone, thanks for ya vote,” said Muhangi.

These are the same awards that songstress Sheebah Karungi pulled out of.

“Having put into consideration how much work, effort, money and sleepless nights that go in to bring out projects, we clearly understood the amount of shade being thrown at our work with these nominations. Therefore we as the management team behind Sheebah Karungi choose to exit the CMVA,” posted Sheebah's manager, Allan Kiwa on social media.

Reggea and ragga musician, Bebe Cool was withdrawn from the awards after he requested organisers of local entertainment awards to never nominate him again. He had been nominated in Viral Video and Choreography categories.
